Description
A well preserved example of Italianate architecture built by Captain James Nichols, C.S.A. in 1870. The house only had three owners since that time, the last being Dr. Lamartine Hardman, Governor of Georgia from 1927-1931. The house is extremely well-preserved due to the loving care of the latter two owners, especially the Hardman's. When built, running water (both hot and cold) was plumbed into all bedrooms. It even has many of the original furnishings and paintings from the Nichols family.
