Virginia Creeper steam locomotive No. 6 that has been cosmetically restored and is proudly on display at the Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, Virginia. Built in 1897 by the Baldwin locomotive works, this steam engine (2-8-0) was used on the early days of the Abingdon Branch that ran from Abingdon, Virginia to Elkland (now Todd), North Carolina. Three steam locomotives that ran on the Virginia Creeper line still survive - No. 6 in Roanoke, No. 7 in Bluefield, West Virginia, and No. 433 in Abingdon, Virginia.
