Description
The iconic columns of the former Academic Hall on the University of Missouri campus on a clear summer day. Academic Hall was the first structure built on this land grant University from 1840 to 1843. Academic Hall burned to the ground in 1892 and after a year's deliberations, the decision was made to let the columns remain. They are now a centerpiece for the Francis Quadrangle National Historic District in front of Jesse Hall.
