Description
The interior of a reconstructed slave cabin at the Berkeley Plantation in Charles City, Virginia. This cabin was used in the filming of the movie "Harriet" about the life of Harriet Tubman. Harriet was a former slave and abolitionist that made some 13 missions to rescue approximately 70 enslaved people using the Underground Railroad. It is a humbling experience to compare the opulence of the Berkeley Plantation manor house with the interior of these simple one room cabins. Note the dirt floors and no coverings over the windows or doors.
